The product is real and entering the market — introduced under the BlackTop Enduro™ brand — and we are now scaling from proven concept into full production.
Our paving stones can be made without recycled asphalt shingle, but not without reclaimed asphalt pavement — a material generated wherever roads are built, maintained, or removed. That reliance is the opportunity: it ties us to a feedstock that is low-cost, continuously replenished, and available across most of the developed world.
The market it serves is just as broad. Conventional asphalt covers nearly every road, yard, and lot — and each is a candidate for a more durable, lower-lifecycle-cost surface. Adoption begins where the case is easiest to prove, and scales from there.

See the standards →Sustainable Paving Stones is a Calgary-based cleantech company whose roots trace back to hands-on asphalt-recycling experience beginning in 2008. What began as expertise in recycling asphalt roofing material has become a patent-pending system for manufacturing premium paving stones from reclaimed asphalt. We are founder-led, built on operating experience rather than theory.
Its materials and processes are the subject of a major applied-research project conducted with NAIT, SAIT, and Red Deer Polytechnic, supported in part by Emissions Reduction Alberta. The technology — the system, method, and product — is protected by pending patents.
Production is now moving to scale at a dedicated manufacturing facility under construction in Wheatland County, near Strathmore, Alberta — the first plant purpose-built to produce our recycled asphalt paving stones at commercial volume. Those lines will produce the same paving stone now entering the market under the BlackTop Enduro™ brand.
Recycled inputs do not mean a compromised product. Every paver we produce is made from 100% recycled material and engineered to outperform conventional segmental paving where it counts: it lasts longer, handles freeze-thaw far better, and is far easier to lift and reinstate for repairs. Across the full life of a road surface, our stone is built to come out ahead.
That discipline is deliberate. A recycled product earns its place in the market by performing, not by apologizing for its origins. Sustainable Paving Stones is building its reputation on durability, consistency, and a finished stone that competes on merit.
